Our AVCS deletion kit offers a reversible solution for situations where AVCS needs to be deleted. Reason being, without deleting AVCS, the timing advance will be slightly retarded when coupled with a nonAVCS ECU. This timing issue leads to:
- Delayed torque delivery
- Added turbo lag, which is very noticeable on the AVCS 2.0L engines
The kit will work on both the intake and exhaust AVCS found on the ej205, ej207, ej255, and ej257 engines.
Example1: If installing a JDM ej205X (AVCS on both intake and exhaust) into a 2006 Legacy GT (intake AVCS only), then purchase (1) kit to delete the exhaust AVCS oil ports.
Example 2: If installing a ej257 engine (intake AVCS) into a 2002 WRX (non AVCS), then purchase (1) kit to delete the intake AVCS oil ports.
Example 3: If installing a JDM ej205X (AVCS on both Intake and Exhaust) into a 2002 WRX (non AVCS), then you will need to use the drop down menu to add 8 set screws and 2 seals to the order. This will have enough screws and cam shafts seals to delete AVCS on all 4 cam shafts.
Note: (1) Standard ACVS Delete kit has enough parts to delete the oil ports on a total of 2 camshafts. For example, both exhaust camshafts.
Our Standard AVCS delete kit includes:
(1) Loctite Threadlocker Red 0.5ml
(8 + 1 spare) Stainless Steel Set Screws 10-32 x 1/4" (includes 1 extra)
(1) Tap and Drill Set 10-32
(2) Subaru OE cam seals 806732160
The Add-on kit includes enough additional parts to delete AVCS on 4 camshafts, as listed below:
(8) Stainless Steel Set Screws 10-32 x 1/4"
(2) Subaru OE cam seals 806732160
The following parts are required to complete the deletion, but are not included. They are often scavenged from the prior engine and are factory parts found on the non AVCS donor engine:
Intake AVCS deletion
- (1) Non AVCS Right Intake cam gear, 13044AA061
- (1) Non AVCS Left Intake cam gear, 13055AA070
- (2) Cam gear bolts, 13199AA010
Exhaust AVCS deletion
- (1) Non AVCS Right Exhaust cam gear, 13049aa041
- (1) Non AVCS Left Exhaust cam gear, 13054aa033
- (2) Cam gear bolts, 13199AA010
