Reason being, without deleting AVCS, the timing advance will be slightly retarded when coupled with a nonAVCS ECU. This timing issue leads to:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDelayed torque delivery\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAdded turbo lag, which is very noticeable on the AVCS 2.0L engines \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThis kit is intended for use with factory Subaru camshafts. If attempting to tap the oil port holes in an aftermarket camshaft (Kelford, GSC, ETC.) then you run the risk of breaking the tap off inside the camshaft. For this reason, we only recommend use with factory Subaru camshafts. Prior to tapping any metal, it is wise practice to pre-drill the hole.
